Get Involved! – There are many ways to become involved in your child’s education at GHES:
- Join the PTA – The PTA strives to enhance collaboration between families and the school by providing meaningful events, programs, and learning experiences.
- Become a Room Parent – Room Parents assist in communication between the teacher and the class parents. This supportive role can truly enrich the classroom environment.
- Volunteer at GHES – The school can always use help with different events and programs provided throughout the school year. Remember, prior to volunteering, an online training must be completed. http://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/childabuseandneglect/
Spirit Gear – Get your eagle wear and be ready for School Spirit Day. The PTA is selling youth and Adult T-shirts for $10 – $15. Magnets and water bottles with the GHES logo are also available for purchase.
After School Programs – GHES offers a number of after school activities which begin in September or October. Such programs include:

New Bell Schedule – Don’t forget the new hours for GHES students are 9am – 3:25pm. Doors open for breakfast at 8:40am.

The Kensington Train Show – The Kensington Train Show will be held on September 9 & 10. There will be model trains, live music and kids activities! The event is a benefit for the Noyes Children’s Library Foundation and the Kensington Historical Society.
